something you need to discuss with the band after booking them (or specify clearly on your booking form at the time of booking if it is important to you).
- For speeches between band
sets (general announcements / thank you shout outs) a band will normally be happy for you to use their microphone and PA, if they have one. (Consider where the PA and microphones will be. For
example, they may be on a stage and probably can't be moved to the head table). However if you want to use the band's P.A. for speeches before the entertainment event, bear in mind that the band will normally finish setting up their P.A. only a short time before
the start of the performance, so use of the PA is not possible.
- If you want to use the PA for
you or your friends to do a musical turn while the band are having a break, then most bands are happy for you to do this, but you should agree this at the time of booking.
- If you want the band to let
you use the PA after they have finished their performance, then this has to be agreed with the band at the time of booking. If they will do it, it is usually at extra cost. Most won't allow their PA
to be used in this way, as after the performance they need to pack up and get people and equipment home.
